Action (CAS): Thai Boxing Program

I started my Thai Boxing program for Action in CAS on August 31st, 2010, where i did it twice a week. Today was my second time learning Thai Boxing. At first, i saw Thai Boxing as a very rough sport, because it involves both hands and feet to fight against the opponent. But as soon as i started the sport, it was quite challenging but interesting at the same time, because i needed to concentrate to be able to do the right movements. I learned many useful movements so far. I learned the "standing position" (the very basic position to start the sport --> as seen on the picture above), "jab" (the left hand movement as seen on the picture bellow) and "strike" (the right hand movement).

Today I also learned "elbow", where I needed to hit my opponent using my elbow. It was not really tiring on these two days. I think it is because I just started the program and had yet to learn more challenging movements. From this program, I also learn the importance of doing stretching before doing any sports, because it makes my muscles able to do the movements without having to deal with cramps. From this few meetings in Thai Boxing, I learned to overcome new challenge because as I stated before, at first I thought this sport was a bit too rough and I was a bit scared to go through it. But after a while, I overcome this challenge and developed new skills that are very useful for my future self defense.
